Aldeen Alley Lancaster, age 90, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (October 3, 2019) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was born on January 28, 1929 in Williamsburg, KY, the daughter of the late Alden and Effie Mae Madon Alley.

She was a housewife after her marriage to her husband, Joyner Lancaster. Prior to her marriage she was a dental assistant to Dr. Devoe Higdon. She graduated from Leitchfield High School in 1948. She enjoyed sewing, (She taught her sister, Linda to sew and made her wedding dress.) She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Aldeen was a Gideon volunteer. She traveled the United States, Canada, and Mexico along with her husband, as members of the Wally Byam Airstream Club. She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. Aldeen and her husband, Joyner, were two of the seven founding members of the church.

She is survived by her brother, Alden “Pudgie” Alley and his wife, Linda, and sister, Linda Wright, all of Leitchfield; several nieces and several nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joyner L. Lancaster and sister, Reba Alley Booth.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m.  Sunday, (October 6, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
