
Kentucky State Police says the number of people killed in automobile crashes in 2019 was the lowest since 2014.
KSP said there were 717 motorists killed on Kentucky roadways in 2019, down slightly from the 720 fatalities in 2018. The recent spike in highway fatalities in Kentucky hit its peak in 2016 when 829 people were killed. In 2017, 777 died in automobile crashes.
The last time fatalities dropped below 700 deaths in one year was 2014, when there were 672 fatalities.
Last year in Grayson County there were seven fatalities, a drop of five deaths from 2018’s 12.
