Chalmer Lee Shartzer, age 84, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (January 30, 2020) at his residence.

He was born on January 11, 1936 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Denver Emerson and Shellie Watson Shartzer.

He was a retired clothing manufacture business owner, who enjoyed gardening, his ponies, trading, flea markets and old tractors. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran, 60 plus year member of the Leitchfield Masonic Lodge #236 and a Shriner.  He was a 70 year plus member of the Little Clifty Baptist Church, where he was a trustee and a Sunday School Teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Reichenbach Shartzer, three sons, Terry (Marie) of Portland, TN, Larry (Bridget) and Garry (Amy) Shartzer both of Leitchfield, one daughter, Sherry (Steve) Goodrum of Versailles, KY, eleven grandchildren, two grandsons-in-law; one great grandchild on the way; two brothers, Bro. Chester and Jimmy Shartzer both of Leitchfield and one sister, Wanda VanMeter of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jarrod Shartzer.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (February 4, 2020) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Arnold Moon, Chester Shartzer and Steve Hill will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens. There will be a masonic service on Monday night at 6:00 p.m. by the Leitchfield Masonic Lodge #236.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
