KSP Post 4 Activity Report: Troopers arrested 51 drunk drivers in Jan.

Kentucky State Police 4 in Elizabethtown has released its activity report for the month of January.

According to KSP spokesman Scotty Sharp, Post 4 Troopers and Detectives:

  • Opened 59 criminal cases, made 455 criminal arrests.
  • Wrote 1,970 citations and removed 51 drunk drivers from roadways.
  •  Cited 469 speeders, with 515 motorists given a courtesy notice in lieu of a traffic citation for minor traffic offenses.
  • Charged 126 subjects with failure to wear a seat belt and wrote four citations for failure to use a child restraint.
  • Investigated 43 auto accidents and assisted 117 stranded motorists
  • Answered 710 citizen’s complaints and were involved in 696 special details, while conducting 10 community programs that reached 1,751 citizens.
  • Conducted 85 school and business security checks.

Sharp said KSP Post 4 will operate Road Safety Checkpoints as well as Speed Checkpoints throughout the eight county Post 4 coverage area for the months of February and March and throughout 2020.
