A mother in Laurel County has been jailed after her toddler was found naked in a wooded area.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Rebecca Young, of Corbin, after her three-year-old son was found roaming through the woods naked. Police located Young at a nearby apartment complex.
Police said Young was in another part of her apartment and not watching the child as he wandered out of the residence. The boy was found after being away from his home for about 15 minutes, with investigators saying Young did not call 911.
Young was arrested and charged with criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Social Services placed her child with a family member.
