
A two-year-old child has been shot and killed in Elizabethtown.
The Elizabethtown Police Department responded Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:00 to a residence in Woodland Mobile Home Park, at 1242 Woodland Drive, on the report of a shooting.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a two-year-old child had been shot. The toddler was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An EPD spokesman said the boy’s father and two siblings were at the home at the time of the shooting, according to multiple media reports. Detectives are working to determine what led to the shooting.
The child suffered a single gunshot wound.
Elizabethtown police said the investigation is ongoing and detectives have not yet made a decision on whether someone will be charged.
