A Grayson County man is facing a felony drug charge after a traffic stop on Caney Creek Road.
Wednesday night at approximately 9:45, Grayson County Deputies Andy Vincent and Rick Mehlbauer were patrolling in the 5000 block of Shrewsbury Road when Vincent observed an older model Chevrolet S10 without its license plate illuminated.
He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, being driven by 38-year-old Anthony Hayes, who turned onto Caney Creek Road and then onto a driveway.
Upon making contact with the Hayes, Vincent and Mehlbauer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the truck. During a subsequent search of the Chevy, deputies located about two grams of methamphetamine in a baggie, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Hayes was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and rear license plate not illuminated along with a non-moving violation. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
GCSO Sgt. Zane Greer and Deputy Sean Fentress assisted at the scene.
