At his coronavirus (COVID-190) briefing on Sunday, Gov. Andy Beshear reported 117 new cases of the virus were confirmed over the previous 24 hours.

The new cases increase the state’s total to 13,750.

“We’ve been in this fight for more than three months now and, unfortunately, we still have a long way to go,” Beshear said. “But I have total confidence that Kentuckians will rise to the challenge in order to do one of the things we do best: watch out for families, friends and neighbors.”

Officials reported two new deaths Sunday, raising the total to 526 (3.8 percent fatality rate) Kentuckians lost to the virus.

The deaths reported Sunday include a 73-year-old man from Butler County and a 61-year-old man from Fayette County. The Butler County victim gives that bordering county 14 COVID-19-related deaths.

An update on recovered Kentuckians was not offered on Sunday, but as of Saturday, at least 3,530 (25.7 percent) victims had recovered from the virus. Over 350,000 tests have been administered in Kentucky.
