
Charles Embry, age 79, of Leitchfield, KY, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, (July 12, 2020) in Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born on March 15, 1941 in Ready, KY, the son of the late Silas and Ollie Raymer Embry.
He was a retired farmer and bus driver for the Grayson County Board of Education. He and his wife, Pat also had owned and had operated Ready Store. Through the years he enjoyed various activities, but his favorite were with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing with them, teaching them about the summer garden, watching NASCAR and the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball. He was a member of Rabbit Flat (Union General Baptist) Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Miller Embry; loving daughter and son-in-law, KrisCendia and Todd Saltsman of Leitchfield; two lights of his world, his grandchildren, Wyatt and Maggie Saltsman; two brothers, Herb Embry (Blanche) and Damon Embry (Velma); three sisters, Joyce Ann Nash (Don), Norma Jean Baker (Dewey) and Betty Preston (Dewayne). Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Omer, Sherman and Herman Embry; two sisters, Lorene Preston and Jerldean Turner.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (July 15, 2020) at the Rabbit Flat Union General Baptist Church. Bro. Larry Holman and Bro. Dewey Baker will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, and continuing at the church for the service at 1:00p.m.
