Missing North Carolina woman with mental impairment last seen in Munfordville

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing North Carolina woman who was last seen in Munfordville.

According to Hart County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police, 28-year-old Summer Hope Eckert was last seen in Munfordville on June 30. She is missing from Catawba County, North Carolina, where a Silver Alert was issued after her disappearance. Her disappearance was first reported by media outlets in North Carolina on June 27.

Police said Eckert suffers from a “cognitive impairment” and is without her medication.

Eckert stands 5-feet-3 and weighs between 185 and 200 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She at times wears dark framed glasses. She has piercings on her lip and nose, along with several piercings on her ears.

Eckert also has a sunburst flower tattoo in the center of her chest and a “symbol of Eternal Life on her neck,” which looks like a snake eating its tail.

She is educated in Native American heritage, according to police, and she has a guitar in her possession along with a dark colored duffel bag.
