
For the second straight year, Grayson County’s Grant Manion will compete in the KHSAA State Golf Championship.
On Monday, Manion, and the rest of the Cougar boys golf team, participated in the 5th Region tournament held at Elizabethtown Country Club.
Despite rainy conditions, the Grayson County senior shot a 78 to qualify for state for the second straight year. Last year, Manion shot a 77 in the regional tournament and an 85 in the state championship.
As a team, the Cougar boys finished 4th overall with a 342. Joining Manion on Monday was Griffin Chino (91), Jaxon Higdon (89), Landon Skees (87), and Jackson Mayes (88).
The Lady Cougar golf team will hit the green tomorrow morning for their attempt to qualify for the state tournament. Tee times for the girls, listed in central time, at Elizabethtown CC will be Maddie Henning (8:54 AM), Anna McKinney (9:06 AM), Natalie Garrett (9:18 AM), and Sophia Elmore (9:30 AM).
Manion will now move on to the state tournament which will be held next week at Bowling Green Country Club.
