The Lady Cougar soccer team fell at home last Friday, 6-2 to the visiting Warren Central Lady Dragons.

The Lady Dragons wasted no time in cracking the scoreboard when senior Nayda Espinoza scored off a crossing shot from the right side that found the left corner of the net to beat Lady Cougar goalie Alyssa Morgan and make it 1-0.

Two minutes later the Lady Dragons were on the board again when junior Itzel Falcon-Perez got behind the Lady Cougar defense and put the ball into the net to make it 2-0.

Grayson County made it interesting with a goal in the 20th minute. The Lady Dragons were attempting to clear the ball from their end of the field when senior Gillian Johnston stole the ball in front of the left upright. She turned quickly and fired a shot that found the right corner of the net to make it 2-1.

Four minutes later Warren Central scored again when freshman Ahtziri Falcon-Perez beat Morgan with a goal to make it 3-1.

Itzel Falcon-Perez scored in the 33rd minute on a play nearly identical to her first goal to make it 4-1, which was the score at the half.

Warren Central added goals in the 45th and 77th minutes of the second half that made it 6-1.

With just two minutes remaining to be played, the Lady Cougars were awarded a free kick near the left sideline, about 30 yards out from the Central goal. Johnston took the kick and sent a bullet into the right side of the net that made the final score 6-2.

The Lady Cougars fell to 2-3 for the season with the loss.
