An intoxicated Leitchfield man has been arrested after flipping a truck on Anneta Road.
Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:00, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sergeants Fred Norder and Zane Greer, the Anneta Fire Department and EMS responded to the 9900 block of Anneta Road after an EMS crew traveling to Bowling Green drove upon the single-vehicle accident and alerted Grayson County Central Dispatch.
Upon Norder and Greer arriving at the scene, they determined the driver of the Chevrolet truck, 53-year-old Joseph Sandlin, was under the influence of alcohol and possibly another, unknown substance. Sandlin was arrested and charged with his second DUI, careless driving and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
Beer cans and a nearly empty liquor bottle were found in the truck.
The investigation showed that Sandlin, who was traveling north, left the roadway in a curve, traveling about 90 feet and striking an embankment, which caused the truck to flip at least once before coming to rest on its top in the roadway.
In total, the truck traveled about 165 after leaving the road.
Sandlin was medically cleared at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center before being lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
