
Although the Grayson County Community Action (GCCA) building remains closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organization said it is currently accepting documentation needed for its various programs via email.
“But, if someone is unable to email, we set up appointments and meet them outside of the building,” GCCA said.
Certain programs do require applicants to visit the GCCA building, located at 118 William Thomason Byway, to complete paperwork and/or provide a required signature.
When applying the organization needs the following information:
- Driver’s license
- Social Security cards for everyone in the home.
- Proof of income for the prior month.
- Electric bill if heating with electric
- Gas or propane printout if heating source and will also need the electric bill.
- If electric is in someone else’s name they need a letter from them stating you are responsible for the bill.
Current programs include the following:
- Li-Heap Fall Subsidy – Heat source assistance (electric, gas, propane, wood, kerosene) up to $200 per household.
- Team Kentucky Financial Assistance Applications — Applicants must apply online > https://teamkyfund.ky.gov/ Up to $1,000 per qualified household for rent, utilities, or grocery. Paper applications are available by request if needed.
- Various programs for assistance with rent, electric, water, and wastewater.
- Employment supplies, such as clothing or shoes.
- Weatherization – Provides energy conservation improvements to dwellings in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for household members and potentially lower the energy costs
- Goodwill vouchers are currently unavailable until January 2021
- Li-Heap Crisis begins January 4.
