Maysville police officer jailed after shooting at deputy, other people

A Maysville police officer is behind bars after shooting at a sheriff’s deputy and other people.

On Sunday afternoon, Maysville officer Jessie Pollitt, 28, of Maysville, fired shots at a Fleming County deputy who was responding to a domestic violence call. According to police, the deputy made contact with Pollitt who began shooting at the deputy as well as other people in the area.

No one was injured in the incident.

Pollitt, who was off duty at the time of the shooting, was arrested and charged with attempted murder of a police officer, third-degree terroristic threatening, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), felony wanton endangerment and resisting arrest.

Pollitt is being held in the Mason County Detention Center.
