An intoxicated driver, with three previous DUI arrests, avoided injury after a horrific crash on Rocky Hill Estates Road.
Tuesday night at 11:30, Grayson County Deputy Jason Luedke and Sgt. Fred Norder, the Wax Fire Department and EMS responded to the single-vehicle crash at 719 Rock Hill Estates Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found that 37-year-old Martin B. Logsdon, of Peonia, was traveling north in a Kia Sephia when coming out of downhill curve he lost control of the vehicle. The Kia left the roadway and traveled into a grassy area, got sideways and struck a utility pole on the passenger side, flipping the car onto its top.
The vehicle traveled about 75 feet after leaving the road.
Logsdon, who was clearly intoxicated and falsely claimed someone else was driving the car, refused medical treatment at the scene. Once Luedke arrived at Twin Lakes Regional Medical with Logsdon to gain medical clearance for the suspect to be incarcerated, he refused to get out of the deputy’s cruiser.
Logsdon was charged with his fourth DUI (aggravating circumstances), driving on a DUI suspended license (his second such offense), failure to wear a seat belt, falsely reporting an incident, and obstruction/interference with an officer.
He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
