15 new COVID cases in Grayson County, 129 active cases

The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) has released a coronavirus update.

GCHD Director Josh Embry reported Wednesday night that 15 new cases of the virus have been confirmed since Tuesday’s update. The new cases increase the county’s COVID-19 victim count to 1,797 (about one case per 15 Grayson Co. residents).

Over the last 17 days, 256 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the county, an average of 15.1 per day.

No new deaths were announced, leaving the county’s COVID-19 death toll at 49.

Officials said there are 129 active cases in the county, three fewer than Tuesday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,619 (90.1 percent) Grayson Co. residents have recovered from the virus.
