The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on methamphetamine charges, the second time the suspect has been busted for possessing meth.

Sunday night at approximately 8:15, Grayson County Sgt. Fred Norder was dispatched to a parking lot in Short Creek after a U-Haul was parked in the lot “for an extended period of time with the lights on and a male passed out behind the wheel,” according to the arrest citation.

Upon arriving at the scene, Norder found 42-year-old Jason A. Porter, of Louisville, apparently asleep in the driver’s seat. Upon waking Porter, Norder detected an odor of marijuana coming from the cab of the U-Haul, the citation states.

Porter admitted to smoking marijuana and said there was marijuana in the vehicle. Norder also learned that Porter was driving on a DUI suspended license.

During a search of the vehicle, police located methamphetamine and a meth pipe.

Porter was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), driving on a DUI suspended license, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Jason Luedke assisted at the scene.
