At their banquet over the weekend, the Grayson County High School Cougar basketball team recognized all-tournament team members.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions at Whitesville Trinity High School, the players were not able to receive their awards during last month’s district tournament.
The Cougar boys won the tournament with a win over Butler County High School.
Senior Brett Payton was named to the 12th District all-academic team.
Grayson County placed three on the all-season team with Keegan Sharp, Chandler McCrady, and River Blanton representing the orange and blue. The trio each averaged double-figures on the season.
The all-tournament team saw Dillon Horn join Sharp, McCrady, and Blanton. Horn had 18 points and 17 rebounds in the pair of games.
McCrady was also recognized as a member of the all-3rd Region tournament team. In the Cougars lone game in the tournament, he led the team in scoring with 14 points.
Grayson County will return nearly 99% of their scoring for next season’s team.
