
Bessie Hogan, age 88, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (May 14, 2021) at Owensboro Twin Lakes Hospital in Leitchfield.
She was born on July 17, 1932 in Butler County, KY, the daughter of the late Guffie and Martha Leora Bryant Lacefield.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing, growing flowers, gardening and collecting dolls. She lived her life for her children, putting their needs and wants way before her own. She loved being around her grandchildren and having family get-togethers. She lived to love and enjoy five generations. She was a member of the Beech Grove United Baptist Church. She gave her life to the Lord and was saved in 1955.
She is survived by her sons, Billy of Leitchfield, Robert of Caneyville, Buddy of Caneyville, Sonny of Millwood and Jeff Hogan of Elizabethtown; daughters, Brenda Cook of Caneyville, Lola Miller of Caneyville, Marie Greaser of Illinois and Barbara Cummings of Brownsville; twenty-nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Dessie Turner of Butler County and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Hogan, son, William Boyd Hogan, daughter, Sue Brooks, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, (May 17, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Larry Lacefield and Bro. Charlie Lacefield will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sweeden Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
