
Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal shooting in northern Kentucky involving the U.S. Marshals Service.
State police said the shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3:00 in Florence when Marshals attempted to execute multiple arrests warrants on a suspect. The initial investigation showed that through surveillance, the suspect was located at a residence on Garden Drive. When Marshals made contact, the suspect fired a weapon, with a brief standoff ensuing.
The suspect continued to brandish a firearm, resulting in Marshals returning fire, striking the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
KSP Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the shooting.
