Grayson County High School has named Jody Nutt as the next head coach of the Cougar baseball team.

Nutt will replace longtime Cougar head coach Danny Clark who announced his retirement in June after 18 total seasons.

Nutt has been an assistant for the Cougars since the 2013 season. In addition, he is the director for the Grayson County Little League Baseball program and the maintenance supervisor for Leitchfield Parks and Recreation.

The new head coach will take over a team that loses seven seniors from last season’s team that lost in the 12th District semifinals to Edmonson County. It was only the second time this century that the Cougars did not find themselves playing in the 3rd Region tournament.

Nutt is married to Natasha and is the stepfather to former Cougar catcher Briley Napier and has two daughters Hadleigh and Ellee.
