A Leitchfield man is facing several felony drug charges, as well as a child abuse count, after a Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force investigation.

James Lucas, 22, was recently indicted, arrested and jailed for trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), three counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, opiates, drug unspecified), prescription controlled substance not in its proper container, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lucas has also been charged with criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12.

According to the arrest citation, the task force executed a search warrant at Lucas’ Eveleigh Road home where police located “a large amount of methamphetamine … near a sleeping child.”

Lucas was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
