Deadly fentanyl-laced pills are circulating in Butler County.
Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward said blue pills disguised as Percocets are actually laced with fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid 80 to 100 times more potent that morphine, according to the DEA.
The pills have “M” on side and “30” on the other, Ward said, adding that he recently received lab results on the pills showing they are laced with fentanyl.
“They are in our community and they are bad news,” Ward warned.
The sheriff noted that there were two overdoses in a recent seven-day period in Butler County, with “two (overdose) deaths in a connecting county.”
Ward urged residents to not touch the pills unless one has gloves on.
Anyone who sees these pills is asked to contact your local law enforcement.
