COVID-19 vaccine for children ages five- to 11-years-old available in Leitchfield

COVID-19 vaccines are now available in Leitchfield for children ages five- to 11-years-old.

The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) announced on Wednesday the recently approved vaccine has arrived in the county. The vaccine was approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The first opportunity for children to receive the vaccine will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Grayson County Public Library.

The Grayson County Public Library is at 163 Carroll Gibson Boulevard.

Beginning on Wednesday, November 3, Leitchfield Pediatrics will inoculate children five-years-old and older with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. A nurse will be available to give the vaccine by appointment or walk-in from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We will make every effort to provide the desired doses to the children in our community,” Leitchfield Pediatrics officials said.
