The Hart County man accused of killing his wife has been indicted on domestic violence murder and other charges.
William G. Burden, 53, of Upton, was indicted by a LaRue County Grand Jury for killing his estranged wife, 27-year-old Erica Burden, of Bonnieville.
Her body was found in a sink hole in Upton on Thursday, November 11, two days after she went missing following dropping her daughter off at school in Bonnieville. The News-Enterprise reports that a firearm, cellphone and the victim’s purse were hidden underneath Erica Burden’s body.
“Suspected blood evidence” was discovered at Erica Burden’s home and inside her vehicle, which was found at Bonnieville Elementary School, state police said. Authorities also said that before disappearing, the victim was seen with William Burden Tuesday morning, November 9, at around 8:00 near the Bonnieville Dollar General Store.
Kentucky State Police searched William Burden’s residence and found additional blood evidence and “other items connected to Erica Burden.”
In addition to domestic violence murder, Burden was indicted for abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and possession a handgun by a convicted felon.
He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $2 million cash bond.
