A Grayson County felon has been arrested on multiple drug and other charges by the Clarkson Police Department.
Wednesday night at approximately 9:00, Clarkson Officer Blake Elmore executed a traffic stop at the Citgo One Stop, at 124 West Main Street, on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the passenger, 34-year-old Wallace L. Mercer, Elmore discovered the suspect had four warrants for this arrest; three out of Grayson County and one from Edmonson County.
During a search of the vehicle and Mercer, Elmore located a significant amount of methamphetamine, multiple and different types of pills, marijuana, and a handgun, which as a felon, Mercer is precluded from possessing.
Mercer was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), three counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, drug unspecified), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in marijuana, prescription controlled substance not in its proper container, third-degree terroristic threatening, harassment, and interfering with communications. He was also served with the warrants.
He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
Leitchfield Police Officers Kelsey Overton and Adam Cottrell, and Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Clay Boone, assisted at the scene.
