Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center names new nursing chief, head of patient care services

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center has selected a new nursing chief and head of patient care services.

Cathy Stewart, MSN, RN, has been named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and vice president for Patient Care Services at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.

Stewart will lead all nursing aspects in her new role and champion quality, safety, and operational initiatives to meet the community’s healthcare needs.

“Cathy brings a wealth of nursing leadership to the team and an extensive list of accomplishments,” said Ashley Herrington, chief executive officer for Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. “She has a proven track record in elevating clinical quality, creating a compassionate culture, and providing excellent patient-centered care. Cathy’s leadership will help us fulfill our mission and better serve our patients.”

Stewart brings over 28 years of nursing leadership experience to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. She joined the Owensboro Health system in 2007 and has advanced into various roles of increasing responsibilities.

Most recently, Stewart served as the Director of Nursing for Medical-Surgical Services at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Since beginning her career in 1994, Stewart’s nursing experience spans medical and surgical services, oncology, pulmonary, and home health.

Stewart holds a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University.
