A northern Kentucky man and two women are facing decades in prison after the women recorded themselves abusing their children at their boyfriend’s request.
The boyfriend, 38-year-old Christopher M. Whittaker, of Edgewood, has been charged with second-degree rape, use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance, possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (under the age of 18), first-degree sodomy, second-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12), and first-degree criminal abuse of a child (under the age of 12).
“I intend to bury this individual under the prison. That’s my goal,” Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders told media members on Friday.
Whittaker was originally arrested in January for producing pornography involving a 14-year-old girl with special needs, according to WXIX.com.
During the investigation, police discovered a copious number of images and videos of the young girl on Whittaker’s computer. Police say Whittaker was present in several of the videos “directing the victim’s actions,” the news outlet reports.
Court documents, according to the new outlet, say “Whittaker was the boyfriend of the 14-year-old’s mother and that they also abused another child who was seven-years-old at the time.”
“This is the first case I’ve ever had where the mother was willingly participating in the abuse of the child and filming the abuse as well,” Sanders said.
The two women, one from Kenton County and the other from Grant County, are not being identified in order to protect the rights of their juvenile children. They have been charged with multiple counts of first-degree criminal abuse of a child along with other child porn-related counts. The women face up to 70 years in prison if found guilty of the charges.
“It’s horrible to abuse any child,” Sanders said. “To abuse a developmentally disabled or special needs child is that much more baffling and disgusting.”
Whittaker is being held in the Kenton County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
