The Lady Cougar softball team punched out 10 hits and 12 runs last Friday afternoon as they defeated visiting Hart County 12-1 in five innings.

Grayson County never trailed after scoring four times in the first inning. Hannah Franklin drove in a pair of those runs with a one-out single to right field. The other two runs came home on a single to right by Madelyn Henning.

The Lady Cougars added two more runs in the second on a single to right by first baseman Audrey Killion and a ground out by Franklin.

The Cougars made it 8-0 in the third with two more runs on a double by Raigan Cave and a triple by Shelby Davis.

The Raiders scored their only run in the fourth inning when DP Nevaeh Haskins led off with a home run to left-center off starter and winner Mallory Lindsey. Lindsey allowed just one run on five hits. She struck out four and walked no one.

Finally, in the bottom of the fourth, the Cougars made it 12-1 with four runs. The left-fielder, Henning, drove in two with a two-out single to center, while Cave drove in two more with a single to left.

Then Lindsey worked a perfect fifth inning to put the Raiders down.
