A Leitchfield man has been jailed after holding a woman against her will and assaulting a police officer.
On Tuesday night at approximately 11:30, Leitchfield Police Department Officer Chase Melton and Sgt. Keith Harrell responded to Lowe’s Mobile Home Park, at 306 Marion Street, on the report of a domestic disturbance involving a man holding a woman against her will inside a mobile home.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered 45-year-old Joseph T. Renfro, was physically holding the door to the mobile home shut as officers attempted to make entry, police said. Officers, though, were able to force their way into the residence where Renfro physically assaulted Harrell.
After continuing to resist officers, he was eventually cuffed and arrested.
Renfro was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault of a police officer and resisting arrest and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
