Sylvia Jane Gore Dennison McCarty, age 72, of Big Clifty, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Owensboro Health-Twin Lakes in Leitchfield.
She was born February 10, 1950, in Louisville, to the late James and Decie Jones Gore. She was an office clerk at Crumax and a member of the Clarkson Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Dennison and a sister, Brenda Gore Waterbury.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Billy McCarty; two sons, Brian Dennison and Adam Dennison; three step-sons, Brent Dennison, Bart Dennison and Wendell McCarty (Kathy); a step-daughter, Peggy (McCarty) Akridge (Keith); a brother, Ronald Gore; two grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Clarkson Church of Christ with Bro. Mark Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Stephensburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM, Wednesday and from 9 to 10:30 AM, Thursday at the Rogers-Oller Funeral Home.
