Cassandra “Jeanie” Whitaker, age 44, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (April 23, 2022) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY. She was born on September 13, 1977 in Elizabethtown, KY, the daughter of Sandra Nugent Hester and her late father Eugene Bruner.
She was employed at Vison First Eye Care for 15 years. She enjoyed all things outdoors, mud-bogging, and reading.
She is survived by her sons, Kolt Brantley Whitaker and Wyatt Miller; step-daughter, Kelsey Whitaker; mother, Sandra Kay Hester; brother, Richard Bruner (Jessica Bland); sisters, Rebecca Oblinsky, and Shirley Bratcher (Robert Handley); half-sisters, Linda and Vonnie Preston; step-sister, Lisa Dennis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Whitaker; father, Eugene Bruner; step-father, Jim Hester, and a brother, Bobby Lasley.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (April 28, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Nathan Lowe will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Sadler Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00a.m on Thursday until time of services.
