A Campbellsville man has been accused of raping a juvenile.
Abel M. Tucker, 31, was indicted by a Taylor County Grand Jury for first-degree rape, unlawful transaction with a minor and controlled substance not in its proper container.
The indictment stems from an incident in October 2021, where Tucker was accused of taking a young girl from Richmond to Campbellsville.
Once in Campbellsville, Tucker let the girl out of his car in the middle of the night on Pikes Ridge Road, just south of Campbellsville. A passerby notified police, saying that the girl had been “put out” of a car.
When Taylor County deputies made contact with the girl, she said she had been picked up in Richmond by a man named Abel Tucker. He then allegedly brought her against her will to Campbellsville, and at some point raped her.
Tucker was located, arrested and charged about eight hours after the victim was found by police.
The Attorney General’s Office Special Prosecutions Unit presented the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office investigative findings to the grand jury, resulting in Tucker’s indictment.
