
The Elizabethtown plant where a worker perished in an early Tuesday morning accident has issued a statement.
The fatal accident occurred at Metalsa, one of Hardin County’s largest employers, Tuesday morning just before 3:00. According to Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Officer Chris Denham, 24-year-old Lance Winemiller, of Elizabethtown, died after being struck by a forklift.
The company issued the following statement regarding the tragic event:
Following your media coverage of the events that occurred at our plant, we would like to share that in the early morning hours of today, an accident occurred at our Elizabethtown Plant, in which unfortunately, one of our employees lost his life.
We are very saddened by this event and one of our main priorities is to be close to the affected family and colleagues to offer them our support and care.
For the moment, we are unable to share further details as we continue cooperating with the proper authorities who are still investigating the incident.
All of us at Metalsa express our sorrow and send our deepest condolences to the affected family and friends. We also appreciate everyone’s support and understanding during this difficult time.
Metalsa is an auto supplier that produces frames and other parts for Ford Expedition, Navigator and F-150 trucks.
