A man has been killed in an accident on I-65 in Hardin County.

Kentucky State Police Post 4 spokesman Scottie Sharp said troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident Monday night at approximately 11:00 near the 91-mile marker of I-65.

The preliminary investigation, police said, revealed 19-year-old Chloe Corse, of Louisville, was traveling north on I-65 in a 2006 Saturn VUE when she lost control of the vehicle during heavy rain, causing the Saturn “to spin before coming to a stop facing south in the northbound lanes.”

At that time, a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, being driven by 56-year-old Gerald Bell, of Bruceton, Tennessee, struck Corse’s vehicle head-on.

Bell and a 25-year-old passenger were transported to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Bell later succumbed to his injuries. Corse was uninjured.
