The Edmonson County School District is pushing back the start to the 2022-23 school year.
In a social media announcement on Tuesday, the district said that the first day for students will now be Wednesday, August 31.
The delay is reportedly due to issues with building maintenance.
School officials said that this change will not have an impact on already scheduled breaks. Instead, the education day will be extended by 20 minutes. By doing this, students will be able to catch up on the missed time.
Schools in the district could potentially make changes now to originally scheduled back-to-school nights.
