The Glasgow Police Department (GPD) is issuing a warning about the sale of tobacco and other similar products to those under the age of 21.

In a release, officials said that they had received multiple complaints from parents and other community members of juveniles purchasing the items such as tobacco, alternative nicotine, CBD, and vapor-related products.

The department recently conducted an investigation utilizing persons under 21 years old in an attempt to purchase the products. Multiple locations in their jurisdiction violated state and federal tobacco laws which resulted in citations being issued to the employees who sold the items.

Officials also warned those businesses that if it continues, the business itself would receive citations as well as potential fines and loss of license.

Punishment, per KRS, for violation of the orders, ranges from $100-$500 for employees and $1,000-$2,500 for retailers.
