A Leitchfield man who absconded from parole has been arrested after being found unresponsive on the bathroom floor at DeWitt Park.
Wednesday night at approximately 9:00, Leitchfield Police Officers Adam Cottrell and Missy Skaggs responded to the park, at the intersection of West Walnut Street and Grayson Street, and found 42-year-old Michael D. Hunt unresponsive on the floor of the men’s bathroom.
EMS was summoned to the scene but canceled after Hunt regained consciousness and began speaking with officers.
No drugs were found at the scene, police said, as Hunt told officers he went into the bathroom to escape the rain and passed out.
He was arrested on a parole board warrant and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Hunt has absconded from parole. He was on parole until March 2023. He has felony convictions in Grayson County for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and theft by unlawful taking, enhanced by a first-degree persistent felony offender conviction.
