A man has been jailed in Scott County after overdosing while driving with a small child in the car.
On Wednesday night, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office received information about a reckless driver on I-75, according to a report by WKYT.com. Upon arriving in the area, the driver of the reckless vehicle, 26-year-old Blake M. Nickoson, of Cincinnati, struck the median multiple times before hitting a car and coming to a stop.
As deputies made contact with Nickoson, he was overdosing on heroin.
He also had a small child in his vehicle, the Lexington television station reports.
Police administered Narcan, which revived Nickoson.
He was arrested and charged with his second DUI (aggravating circumstances), endangering the welfare of a minor, three counts of possession of a controlled substance (heroin, methamphetamine, drug unspecified), first-degree wanton endangerment, and driving on a DUI suspended license.
He was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center. Authorities took possession of the child.
