A northern Kentucky woman has been indicted in the overdose death of her 13-month-old child.
Bailee Thornsbury, 22, of Cynthiana, was indicted by a Harrison County Grand Jury for murder, two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl, methamphetamine), first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In late September, first responders arrived at Thornsbury’s home on the report of a sick toddler. The child, Karsyn Lena Childers, was pronounced deceased at Harrison County Memorial Hospital a short time later.
Multiple media reports indicate the arrest citation states that methamphetamine was found in the same bed as the child and other drugs were located in the room.
“Bailee stated she was aware of the crystal meth and Oxycodone being in her bedroom. Bailee also admitted that she would sell the Oxycodone to her friends …,” the citation says, according to WATE.com.
The citation additionally states that, according to multiple media reports, the suspected cause of death was an overdose.
Thornsbury was lodged in the Bourbon County Detention Center.
