A Clarkson woman has been jailed after being accused of driving while high on drugs with two infants in the vehicle.

On Sunday night at approximately 9:35, Clarkson Police Officer Jordan Jones observed a 2006 Mazda MAZDA3 with faulty equipment traveling in the 300 block of Millerstown Road. Jones conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on the Western Kentucky Parkway on-ramp, according to the arrest citation.

Upon making contact with the driver, 43-year-old Christy M. Beasley, Jones detected the odor of marijuana, with Beasley telling Jones that she had recently smoked marijuana. Jones also observed two infants younger than two-years-old in the car.

When asked if there were drugs in the vehicle, Beasley gave Jones “3-4 partially smoked joints” along with a cigarette pack containing marijuana, according to the citation.

Grayson County Deputy Wally Ritter, who arrived on scene along with Deputy Justin Cockerel, performed a field sobriety test on Beasley.

During testing, according to the citation, Beasley said she was “Lady Liberty, a soldier in God’s Army, a veteran named Juliet and other names.”

She was arrested and charged with DUI (non-alcohol), two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, and a non-moving violation.

Beasley was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
