The Leitchfield Police Department has worked an “inordinate” number of car break-ins over the last week, the agency said in a social media post.

“LPD has responded to an inordinate amount of vehicle break-in/content theft calls over the last week, the common denominator is … an unlocked vehicle,” Leitchfield police said.

Police remind citizens to always lock your vehicles and to not leave valuables inside vehicles overnight.

The break-ins have not occurred in any one specific area of the city, but rather all around Leitchfield.

“Officers are aware of possible suspects in these incidents and are seeking criminal charges,” police said.
