A LaRue County man has been killed in a two-vehicle accident in Buffalo.

Kentucky State Police responded to the wreck Monday afternoon at approximately 5:00 near the intersection of Malcomb Drive and Greensburg Road (Hwy 61).

Police said the preliminary investigation revealed a 1995 Ford Escort, being driven by 41-year-old Charles Perkins, of Buffalo, was traveling north on Greensburg Road when he attempted to pass several vehicles in the southbound lane.

A 2022 Hyundai Tucson, being driven by 31-year-old Brittany Shelton, of Magnolia, turned right off Malcolm Drive onto Greensburg Road and into the path of the Escort, resulting in a head-on collision.

Perkins was pronounced deceased at the scene by the LaRue County Coroner’s Office. Shelton was treated for minor injuries at the scene by LaRue County EMS.
