Earthquake strikes central Kentucky

An earthquake struck a section of central Kentucky on Thursday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 2.6 magnitude quake’s epicenter was just east of Burgin (Mercer County) and struck at 3:05 Thursday morning.

The quake, roughly 17 miles deep, was felt as far as 30 miles away in Lexington, Danville, Nicholasville, and Frankfort.

No injuries or damage has been reported.
