Former teacher at duPont Manual HS sentenced after recording videos of child undressing

A former Journalism and Communications teacher at duPont Manual High School in Louisville has been sentenced after pleading guilty to child sex crimes.

James H. Miller, 50, agreed to a plea deal in December 2022 where he pled guilty to two counts of possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He was initially charged with two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor (victim under 16) and two counts of possession of child pornography.

On Tuesday he was sentenced by Judge Julie Kaelin to three years in prison, according to WAVE3.com.

Miller, in May and June of 2021, recorded multiple videos of his girlfriend’s 10-year-old child undressing while the couple was staying at a hotel. The victim’s mother discovered the videos in December 2021.
