A youth basketball game in Warren County resulted in shots fired at a large recreation complex.

Monday evening at approximately 8:45, troopers responded to Michael O. Buchanon Park at 9222 Nashville Road on the report of shots fired, according to Kentucky State Police.

Upon arriving at the scene, troopers separated two men who were in a physical altercation in the gym’s parking lot.

The initial investigation indicated that a parent and coach were involved in a verbal altercation during a youth league basketball game. The altercation moved to the gym parking lot and became physical when 44-year-old Dannie N. House, of Bowling Green, brandished a firearm and fired one shot, police said.

House was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment. He was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
