An Allen County man has been jailed after being accused of supplying a woman with drugs prior to her overdosing.
The Scottsville Police Department recently responded to Subway restaurant after a woman was found unresponsive in the bathroom, according to a report by WNKY.com. Police administered Narcan, with the woman transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for treatment.
The ensuing investigation led police to arrest 23-year-old Landon S. Shelton, of Scottsville, who police say supplied the woman with two grams of heroin “and instructed her on how much it would take to cause an overdose,” WNKY.com reports.
The woman left her small child with Shelton while she entered the bathroom to ingest the heroin. She was charged with child abandonment as a result.
Shelton was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted manslaughter and persistent felony offender. He was also served with a probation violation warrant and lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
Shelton was convicted in 2021 in Allen County for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and third-degree assault of a police/probation officer, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections
