An eastern Kentucky man has been accused of killing a three-year-old child.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded Sunday evening at approximately 5:30 to the Woodbine community in Whitley County to investigate the death of a small child.

State police said the preliminary investigation showed that EMS responded to a residence where a three-year-old was unresponsive. The child was transported by EMS to Baptist Heath Corbin where the victim was pronounced deceased by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled at the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.

Police arrested 22-year-old Jordan B. Taylor, of Woodbine, and charged him with first-degree murder in the toddler’s death. He is lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
