A Leitchfield woman has been injured after a vehicle passing traffic on Shrewsbury Road crashed into her Toyota.
Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4:15, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Erik Franklin, Deputies Justin Cockerell, Wally Ritter, and Jordan Jones, the Leitchfield Fire Department, and EMS responded to the crash in the 1500 block of Shrewsbury Road, at the intersection of Frontage Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, witnesses told police that a northbound GMC Yukon, being driven by Matthew Avery, of Mammoth Cave, was passing multiple vehicles. When Avery re-entered the northbound lane his GMC slammed into a northbound Toyota Corolla, being driven by Donna Cockriel, of Leitchfield.
Cockriel was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Avery was not injured.
